What You’ll Learn

The Class A Barber 1000 Program introduces students to core barbering techniques, safety practices, and professional standards required for licensure and entry into the profession.

Through a balance of exam-focused instruction and hands-on training, students develop practical skills and workplace readiness.


Program Structure & Training Focus

Foundations (0–150 Hours)

• Sanitation and infection control
• Microbiology and barber science
• Tool handling and workstation setup
• Shampooing and blow-drying
• Introduction to shaving


Barber Core Skills (150–500 Hours)

• Taper cuts and fades
• Clipper and shear techniques
• Razor work and beard services
• Haircutting for all hair textures
• Client consultation and service procedures


Advanced Client Services (500–900 Hours)

• Advanced haircutting techniques
• Hair design and finishing
• Hair color and lightening
• Texture services
• Skin care and facial services


Professional Practice & State Board Preparation (900–1000 Hours)

• State board practical procedures
• Mock exams and timed services
• Professional work habits
• Career preparation

Program Schedule Options

The Class A Barber Program requires 1,000 clock hours of training.
Students may complete the program according to the following attendance schedules:

Full-Time Schedule
• 40 hours per week
• Approximately 6.5 months (25 weeks)

Part-Time Schedule
• 30 hours per week
• Approximately 8.5 months (34 weeks)

Extended Schedule
• 22 hours per week
• Approximately 12 months (46 weeks)
